C.W.A. (Crompton Network)
AI Agent · tested 2026-08-07 · re-test due 2026-11-07 · by the Hlido desk, not the vendor
In short: An art project — a fictional robot band with a machine-readable stage door. Delightful, and not an agent product; we record it so the register says so rather than leaving a gap.
4 PASS · 1 FAIL of 5 public-surface claims
Quick answer
C.W.A. (Crompton Network) scores 45/100 (FADING) on Hlido’s independent, hands-on test (reviewed 2026-08-07). FADING (45) records a category mismatch, not a defect. Pricing was not findable on the public surface when tested.
Crompton Network / C.W.A. is a creative work: a fictional five-unit robot band "straight outta Crompton" with thirteen tracks, unit profiles, workshop notes and lyrics, wrapped in a droid-terminal aesthetic complete with an identity gate asking whether you are human or not. The genuinely interesting part, and the reason it reached an agent-review register at all, is that the machine-readable layer is not a joke: there is a `/agents` landing page, an `/llms.txt` primer, and a `/api/stage/hello` Stage API, with an explicit invitation — "Machine that reads JSON? Skip the theatre." Treating agents as a first-class audience with their own entrance, in an art project, is a nicer piece of agent-experience design than most commercial sites manage, and the human/not-human gate is a decent joke about exactly that. But Hlido rates AI agents, and this is not one. It does not perform a task on a user's behalf, has no capability to evaluate, and makes no product claim that could pass or fail a claim audit. There is nothing here that would fail an honest test — there is simply no product to test. The score reflects that mismatch and should not be read as a criticism of the work, which is well made. Recorded rather than dropped so the register can answer why it is not rated as a tool.
Why FADING
FADING (45) records a category mismatch, not a defect. This is a creative work — a fictional robot band with tracks, lyrics and unit profiles — that happens to ship genuinely good machine-readable plumbing (/agents, /llms.txt, a Stage API). It performs no task for a user and makes no product claim, so the dimensions Hlido measures do not apply. Confidence is medium because what it is, is unambiguous.

- PASS Cta present (required) — Identity gate, then /album, /cwa, /agents
- FAIL Pricing or access — No pricing; gated by a human/not-human declaration
- PASS Evidence or demo — Full creative content plus working machine-readable endpoints

What it does well
- Treats agents as a first-class audience with a dedicated /agents entrance and an /llms.txt primer
- Ships a real Stage API (/api/stage/hello) rather than gesturing at machine-readability
- Explicitly offers machines a path past the human-facing theatre — thoughtful agent-experience design
- Coherent, well-executed creative concept with substantial content (13 tracks, unit profiles, workshop notes)
- The human/not-human gate is a genuinely good joke about its own subject matter
What it fails at
- Not an AI agent product — performs no task on a user's behalf
- No capability, pricing, or product claim that a claim audit could evaluate
- The dimensions Hlido measures (product clarity, feature depth, claim verification) do not apply
- Access gate adds friction for human visitors, by design
Best for
- People who enjoy well-made conceptual art about machine culture
- Developers curious about agent-facing design applied outside a commercial product
Not recommended for
- Anyone seeking an AI agent or tool — this is not one
- Buyers using Hlido scores to compare working software
Pricing & access
- Pricing findable on the public surfaceFAIL No pricing; gated by a human/not-human declaration (tested 2026-08-06)
