EU AI Act readiness and AI governance.

For compliance, procurement and operations leads who are answerable for the AI their organisation already runs. The EU AI Act puts duties on the organisations that deploy AI tools, not only on the companies that build them.

We turn that into a checklist you can act on, backed by what we measured on the tools you actually use.

What is included

  • Deployer obligations, mappedWhich duties apply to you for each AI system you use, and which do not.
  • Article 50 transparency checkWhat each of your tools discloses today, from the Article 50 register and a live check.
  • Evidence file for your AI stackOne document a procurement desk, an auditor or an insurer can read. Start with the free evidence file tool.
  • Vendor due diligenceIndependent findings on a supplier, never the supplier's self-assessment.
  • AI governanceWho may use what, with which data, and how incidents are handled, sized for a small or mid-sized organisation.
  • Briefings and trainingFor leadership, boards and the people who use and supervise the tools.

You get an evidence file for your AI stack, a gap list with owners and dates, and the reasoning in plain language.

Hlido is not a law firm and not a notified body. This is practical readiness work based on independent evidence. It is not legal advice and not a conformity assessment.

Who it is for

  • Compliance and risk leadsYou need a reading of the Act that maps to the tools in use, not a summary of the regulation.
  • Procurement desksYou are asked to approve an AI supplier and want independent evidence.
  • Operations leadsYour teams already use AI tools and nobody has written down the rules.
  • Boards, chambers and institutionsYou want a plain briefing on the practical state of AI tools in a sector.

Sectors

Each sector has its own regulation, systems and first safe process. These are the ones we know and deliver in, with our partners. All sectors

  • BankingKYC and re-KYC processing, reconciliations and service desks connected to core banking, with DORA, GDPR and the EU AI Act as design input.
  • Non-banking financial servicesLending, leasing, payments and wealth: document intake and checks, servicing communications and exception handling.
  • InsuranceClaims intake and document processing, policy servicing and payout workflows with audit trails.
  • Healthcare & care providersAdministrative work first: referrals, scheduling and staff self-service. Data stays in the clinical system; a person signs.
  • Legal & professional servicesIntake, document triage and matter summaries behind a one-page AI policy the tools enforce.
  • Public bodies, chambers & institutionsBriefings, readiness work and vendor due diligence for programmes and member organisations.

How an engagement runs

Scope

A short call to list the AI systems in use and the question you need answered.

Inventory

Each tool, what it does, who uses it and with which data.

Check

Obligations mapped per tool; disclosures checked against our register and a live probe.

Close the gaps

A gap list with owners and dates, the evidence file, and a re-check on a cadence you choose.

Independence

Advice is only worth something if the adviser has nothing to sell you on the side. Three rules, the same on every engagement.

  • No rated company pays for its rating.Hlido also runs an independent AI review desk. Its reviews, scores and re-tests are free and cannot be bought, sped up or removed. The practice is paid only by the organisation doing the work with us.
  • Advisory work never changes a verdict. If a tool we have tested comes up in your project, you get the published evidence and our reading of it. A score does not move because someone is paying to hear it.
  • Relationships are disclosed.Where we work with a company whose product is on the record, the record says so. See the conflict-of-interest policy.

Questions

  • Does the EU AI Act apply to a company that only uses AI tools? In part, yes. The Act places duties on deployers as well as on providers; which ones apply depends on what a system does and how you use it. We map that for each tool you run.
  • Is this legal advice? No. Hlido is not a law firm and not a notified body. The work is a practical readiness assessment with independent evidence that your legal counsel can rely on and build from.
  • Can we check one tool before starting an engagement?Yes. The transparency check is free and works on any AI tool's public website, including tools Hlido has not reviewed.
  • How is the work priced?Every engagement is scoped and quoted per engagement, in writing, before work starts. There is no charge for the first conversation.
